What We Believe
Ebenezer Methodist Church is a proud member of the Global Methodist Church (GMC), a denomination deeply committed to the teachings of Jesus Christ. The GMC centers its faith on the person and work of Christ, recognizing Him as Savior and Lord, and acknowledging that salvation comes through no other name (Acts 4:12).
The Mission of the Global Methodist Church
The mission of the GMC is to make disciples of Jesus Christ who:
Worship passionately
Love extravagantly
Witness boldly
This mission reflects the church's deep commitment to glorifying God and spreading scriptural holiness across the globe.
Core Beliefs of the GMC
Rooted in the historic Christian creeds and the Wesleyan tradition, the GMC holds foundational doctrines that guide its faith and practice. Key beliefs include:
1. THE TRINITY
We believe in One God in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
2. THE AUTHORITY OF SCRIPTURE
The Holy Scriptures are the primary rule for faith and practice, guiding us in all matters of life.
3. SALVATION THROUGH CHRIST
We believe that salvation is available to all through faith in Jesus Christ, who offers grace and redemption.
4. SANCTIFICATION
We emphasize personal holiness and the transformative work of the Holy Spirit, which empowers believers to live Christ-centered lives.
Living the Methodist Way
These core beliefs not only define the Global Methodist Church but also shape the way we live out our faith. We strive to embody these principles in our daily lives as we seek to grow in grace and fulfill the Great Commission.
